Community Feature: Moorelands Kids

Founded in 1912, Moorelands Kids is an innovative children’s charity organization working with children and youth in communities with the highest rates of poverty. Our aim is to bridge the opportunity gap for marginalized kids through experiential skill-building experiences, empowering kids to overcome the socio-economic barriers with tools for success.

We believe that every kid has the right to succeed, regardless of their life circumstance. The Moorelands Kids’ team and leadership programs model the Moorelands Kids’ Habits & Qualities, offering year-round experiences where kids can learn, practice and apply valuable life and leadership skills. We set the stage for kids as young as six to become leaders – first of themselves and then in their communities.

Moorelands Kids offers three after-school programs for children and youth in the NIAs (Neighbourhood Improvement Areas) of Thorncliffe Park, Flemingdon Park, Humber Summit, and Humbermede.

ALL AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS ARE OFFERED AT NO COST TO ALLOW ACCESSIBILITY FOR FAMILIES FROM THOSE NEIGHBOURHOODS
