Committee of Adjustment (CoA)

The Committee of Adjustment is a citizen-member panel charged with making important land-use decisions on minor variance applications in Toronto.

Presently, the Committee is conducting hybrid hearings, where residents have the option to attend virtually or in-person at the North York Civic Centre (5100 Yonge Street). To learn more about the Committee of Adjustment, including how to participate in a hearing, visit the City's website.

Information pertaining to active minor variance applications – including plans, Public Notices, and letters of support or objection – is available on the City's Application Information Centre. For your ease of reference, my office tracks all minor variance applications in Ward 15 – Don Valley West on the map below.

Important Update – TLAB

As of November 28, 2022, local residents no longer have the ability to appeal a Committee of Adjustment decision to the Toronto Local Appeal Body under the Provincial Government's Bill 23 – More Homes Built Faster Act (Schedule 9, Subsection 3). You can find more information about appeals on the City's website.

If you have any comments or concerns regarding Bill 23, I would encourage you to contact the Provincial Ministry of Municipal Affairs & Housing.
