Environment Days 2020

Unfortunately, this year's Ward 15 Environment Days were cancelled in the spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This news was particularly disappointing as the Don Valley West Environment Days are among the most well-attended in the city.

I'm pleased to share that the City will now be hosting "mini" Community Environment Day events this fall. Environment Days provide an opportunity to properly dispose of a variety of household items, including clothing, small appliances, and electronics. You can also safely dispose of household hazardous waste, pick up free compost, and bring books, sports equipment, and clothing for donation.

The new mini Environment Days are being held at the City's seven Transfer Stations, where attendees can drop off items for disposal and pick up two free compost bags. The events will adhere to COVID-19 protocols, and enhanced safety measures will be in place.

If you're interested in attending one of these events, the two closest to Ward 15 will be held on SundayOctober 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Victoria Park Transfer Station – 3350 Victoria Park Avenue, and Sunday, November 1, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Bermondsey Transfer Station – 188 Bermondsey Road.
